ABOUT NADIA

|
Nadia started dancing at a very young age and continued her studies through college where she studied to be a choreographer focusing on ethnic dance. She began her bellydance studies 15 years ago as therapy after suffering a back injury from which doctors had told her she would never dance again. Bellydance was her salvation and became an integral part of her life. As a result of her injury, along with her extensive dance training in other formats, she has developed a unique style incorporating both traditional and fusion-style dances. In addition to her traditional styles of Egyptian & Lebanese, Cabaret, and Orientale, her fusion styles include Latin/Flamenco, African, Jazz/Modern/Ballet, Rai, and Hip-Hop. Nadia has performed and taught classes and workshops throughout the country at various Renaissance Festivals, Restaurants, Events, and on Local and National Television. She was a featured dancer on the Discovery and Travel Channels for the show “Jesse Ventura’s Minnesota”, and has appearances on various live performance videos. She has also performed for the Dalai Lama and celebrities including Mel Gibson, Emilio Estevez, Demi Moore, Debbie Harry, Joan Jett, HIM, and John Waters. She has traveled extensively throughout the USA, as well as Mexico, teaching workshops and performing. Nadia continues to study as much as possible, learning both traditional and new dance styles. She has studied and taken classes with many national and international dancers including: Cassandra, Jillina, Suhaila, Fifi Abdo, Dr. Mo Geddawi, Dina, Oreet, Aziza, Aradia, Fathiem, John Compton, Marguerite, Jim Boz, Naheda of Germany, Mesmera, Jill Parker, Helena Vlahos, Kajira Djoumahna, Angelika Nemeth, Habiba, Darshan, and DaVid of Scandanavia, as well as many others. Nadia is available for workshops and performances worldwide. Please feel free to contact her for more information: Nadia@NadiaRaks.com
